None! We are a local body of believers in Christ keeping the main thing the main thing -loving God and loving others!
The atmosphere at Hope Church is very casual. We don’t have a “dress code.” Our pastor often preaches in jeans, a t-shirt and sneakers! You will find a variety of clothing at Hope from shorts and flip-flops to button-ups and khakis. Our folks wear whatever makes them feel comfortable!
Our worship service begins at 9:30 am and ends around 10:30 am. We begin with brief announcements (approximately 5 minutes or less), four worship songs led by the band (approximately 20 minutes), and a biblical sermon by the pastor (approximately 20-30 minutes). You won’t be asked to “greet your neighbor,” publicly identify yourself, stand up and say hello, or any other cringy uncomfortable things some churches do!
NO! Although we expect our members to donate offerings to the work of the church to expand the Kingdom of God, we never expect our guests to do so. Don’t worry, we won’t shove an offering plate under your nose, our offerings are collected in a secure box in the foyer so no pressure there!
You may park anywhere you wish at Hope Church as there are no reserved spaces. We do ask you to refrain from parking at the fire department across the street for obvious reasons! We never want to hinder our emergency services from responding to calls. You may enter the building on the lower level through the Hope Café; however, you will have to climb steps to enter the worship level. You may also enter through the upper level underneath the porch (ramp available and no climbing steps).
Well, it depends which door! The lower level gives you access to the Hope Café! We serve breakfast foods, coffee, and sodas each Sunday morning beginning around 9:10 am until the beginning of the worship service. There are tables and chairs available for you to sit and enjoy fellowship with others, or you may bring your food and drink into the worship service with you! If you enter through the upper level, there is a foyer with restrooms. If you turn left, you will go downstairs to the Hope Café. If you turn right, you will enter the worship area.
Anywhere you like! You may want to come a few minutes early and stake your claim as our seats are prime real estate! Our seats are comfy padded chairs and not the hard wooden pews of yesteryear!
We usually have contemporary Christian worship music performed by a live band. Often, the band will play old hymns as well.
Our pastor generally preaches from the English Standard Version (ESV) of the Holy Bible due to its accuracy to the original Hebrew and Greek texts of Scripture and it’s easy readability. We invite you to use whichever version/translation that you enjoy. There is no pressure to use a certain version. We know if you can’t understand it, you won’t read it -so find a version/translation you will read and understand! Also, feel free to use the Bible on your smartphone or tablet. God has blessed us with technology, so we encourage you to use it for His glory!
Hope Church loves kids of all ages! We currently have Kids Connection Groups (pre-K through High School) on Wednesday nights when school is in session. They meet from 6:30 am to 8:00 pm (meal provided). If school is out that day, we do not meet. On Sunday mornings after the music, we have Hope Kids for the smaller children (on the lower level). Here, they will get an age-appropriate Bible lesson and activities so you can enjoy the message upstairs. Of course, kids are always welcome to remain in the worship area during the church. It’s totally up to you! Don’t worry if your kids make noise. Let those babies cry! We feel it’s a sign of a healthy church!
